| I can only say this in June or December..by right. However,I am a believer of self before others. Thus explains why the above does not apply.
Anyway was at 17 Magazine Summer Hunk event at Sentosa yesterday. It started off pretty boringly..then again I was already there right?Just abit of digression,I used to love the sun and hoped and hoped for a Jessica Alba tan.But now that I've aged(read previous entry) I'd rather be fair. Not monjee fair, but Caucasian fair.I guess I've infected the Michael Jackson Syndrome.
Back to the event, when Randall Tan(that boy really can speak Malay la!) announced the 9 contestants out,I realised it wasn't a wasted trip.3/4 of them do look good. But hey they are 17..My sis's bf was inside, that also explains my presence there..
To put it in a primary school compo way,it was a lovely sunny day at the beach. We did rock-climbing and there was this one time we played frisbee when a tall US marine guy in ray ban came up to me and whispered that "We are being watched by Vietnamese enemy,Charlie"..I took a look around and there was this guy in the sand gun-pointing his finger at us.That is "the enemy"..Obviously these ppl are drunk and they just gatecrashed our game. But the drunkest of the lot is Joey(he has his name tatooed on his arm,I guess he always get that drunk tt his name is tatooed for cinveniece sake). He rolled around the sand and started shouting "Throw it to me bitch!"..The best part was he took off his board shorts and almost wanted to take off his boxers..I swear I thought I saw something..
The winner was a Chinese dude who acts in Channel 8..he's 24.so NOT 17..but he's a friendly chap..
| Remember the movie Wedding Singer and there's this song at the last part tt's titled "grow Old With You"?..suddenly it dawned to me that I AM getting old.Yes,I know we all do but what I'm saying is that I have come to the point where I stop seeing obvious changes in my body as stated in our "Exploring Science 2" book..And I don't know if it is a good thing or not but I think I look like I'm stuck in a 16 year old body..and this is further backed by many reliable sources
You stop feeling "fuller" in certain parts of your body..or for the guys..you keep getting fuller at certain parts of your body.Don't ask me why.You feel that those younger than you are bigger or taller than you.
As for me,I used to do this anal "monica" habit of drawing in my organiser what to wear the week ahead. Now I've stopped.I used to spend hours gyrating on the dancefloor and now my eyes ache at the sight of those gyrating on the dancefloor..
And what's with kids nowadays? They're trying too hard to be a somebody from nobody. All of them are behaving as if they're from that MTV show Laguna Beach and as if there's camera following them everywhere. What they actually need is a reality check or get a tenancy with oscar the grouch.
And that's another sign of me getting old..I get crabby.
| And the only reason is that my job allows me to only be free of any burden ard this time of the year or december..enough clue?
Anyway now being the june holiday means rest..not much though, for me but it also means there's alot of sight for sore eyes wherever i go.Just last night I was walking around the esplanade and saw what could potentially be any kid tt i know fr my affiliation abovementioned, and at anytime someone mught just pounce from behind and say "Hi Miss ....!"
Speaking of which I can officially say tt i AM old.Was at the TCC at lido when a waitress who's abt 20 came up and said i used to teach her..relief teach..if tt makes me feel abit better. And that was 5 years ago..so damn..i AM old.
Just finished reading Blink and Malcolm Gladwell mentioned how words will either have bad or good connotations.Like given the words and asked to quickly react if it is good or bad.Words like crimes,sex,pregnancies,m*&%$s..bad and money,prosperity,c&*@?@e,education...good..And it is true.So how do we change the truth?
And that is why some of us are escaping to Bali which I believe is the melting pot for the youngsters and those who think they are cool..no the actual reason is that it is the cheapest place that we can get to where we don't have to feel marginalised yet still get to see enough caucasians.
i'm out. | | |
| It's the eve of the lunar new year and guess what that means. From where I come from...shops close at mid-day and the only food places available are those that regularly ask if you'd like a supersize meal, the racks at the supermarket are practically empty and you suddenly get to see how this place looks like when the minority becomes otherwise...
That last part really sort of scared the shit out of me...It's like watching "Hanyut"(a Malay tv programme based on teenage social problems of the Malay community) taking place all around you. That made me think again, maybe it's not so bad having Bee Cheng Hiang eaters as the majority here.
Other than that my life has been revolving around "moulding the future of our country". One observation I made about those under my charge is that..the not so smart are getting smarter and the smarter getting... well to put it simply the different streams are like undergoing a role reversal..U know how in certain religion when they say the world is coming to an end when you see unexpected things happen...maybe this is one of it.
I also went to a Masjid Sultan to listen to a talk whereby when I translate the title would go something like "Women...Listen to the voice of their heart" .. I say this talk should be made into a public forum for all so that the non-muslims will understand that the role of a muslim woman is not one who's surpressed nor oppressed.Instead..(why is my font suddenly italicised??)..they are actually rightfully protected by the Almighty(peace be upon him) and it is the misinterpretation of certain Islamic community of what is stated in the holy book and the lack of knowledge of some of our very own Muslim men that has stirred up all this controversies..
Think I'll just stop here.
| I am a blog-virgin.This is my first attempt putting up a proper entry on a Saturday morning...at work.Yup,to those unknown to me..you might wonder what kind of job that requires you to come at 8 o'clock on a fine day like this when people are busy looking for Bee Cheng Hiang on the last weekend of the present lunar year...
Well here's a clue. You child breeders, you guys better appreciate this cos your future lies in my hand...well partly..or almost partly..then again...not really.
Ok then this is enough for a start..toodles.
